Established in 2004, Fusion Medical has become the preeminent resource for thousands of people throughout the country living with a disability. By taking the time to get to know each and every person they serve, Fusion Medical is able to find the right tools and products to enable their customers to work, to compete, and to live the life they desire. The owners of the company, Brian Sheridan and Nick Long, know all too well just how frustrating the process of obtaining proper medical equipment and supplies can be. At 18 years old, Brian sustained a traumatic spinal cord injury in gymnastics, and at 28 years old, Nick sustained a similar injury while diving into the water. Both now require the use of a wheelchair and deeply understand the importance of the personalized, knowledgeable care for which Fusion Medical has become known.
Fusion Medical not only provides the best resources, it also strives to be the best resource. Since 2004, it has sponsored hundreds of events, including the wheeler division of the Detroit Free Press Marathon, The Crim, and the M-22 races. It is a founding partner and supporter of the Thunder in the Valley Games, Michigan Sports Unlimited, and Arcangeles USA, and has supported athletes and teams in wheelchair rugby, handcycling, tennis, golf, triathlons and the Fusion Firestorm Wheelchair Basketball Team. Fusion Medical hosts weekly adaptive fitness and handcycling programs, and enables persons with disabilities to try a broad range of equipment before buying it. Fusion Medical has seen growing success for over 10 consecutive years by adhering to a simple philosophy: Focus on meeting the customer's needs, so the customer can focus on living.
